Fog, haze or moisture trapped between the panes means the seal has failed. We replace only the insulated glass unit — same frame, one visit, crystal clear again.
A double-pane window is two sheets of glass sealed around the edge with a spacer and filled with dry air or argon gas. Over 10 to 20 years, sun, temperature swings and Virginia humidity break down that seal. Moist air gets in, the insulating gas leaks out, and you are left with fog, water droplets, a milky film or mineral streaks between the panes that no amount of cleaning will remove.
The good news: a failed seal is a glass problem, not a window problem. All Glass Worx removes the fogged insulated glass unit (IGU) and installs a brand-new sealed unit in your existing frame. No trim, siding or drywall work, no new window, and no lingering haze. Most repairs are completed in a single visit once your custom glass arrives.
Window companies love to sell full replacements. Here is our honest guide to when glass-only replacement is the right call.
Because we replace only the sealed glass unit, foggy window repair typically costs a small fraction of a full window replacement. Price depends on the size of the unit, glass type (clear, Low-E, tempered), grids between the panes and access. A technician measures on-site and hands you a locked-in written price on the spot — free, with no obligation.
Have several foggy windows? Replacing them in one visit is the most economical option, and we are happy to quote each window separately so you can prioritize.
A real technician measures and quotes on-site. No guesswork, no "estimate ranges," no obligation.
The number we quote is the number you pay. Zero change orders, zero surprise fees.
If our install ever fails, we fix it free — for as long as you own the home.
Bring us a lower written quote for the same glass and hardware and we'll match it.
Drop cloths, dust control, full haul-away. We leave it cleaner than we found it.
If we're late to your install without calling ahead, we take $100 off. Your time matters.
Still have a question? Call or text (571) 546-2525 and a real person will answer.
Yes. The fog is inside the sealed glass unit, so we replace that unit and keep your existing frame. The result looks and performs like new.
The perimeter seal that keeps moisture out of the air space has failed. It is normal after 10–20 years, and sun-facing windows fail first.
“Defogging” services drill holes to vent the unit. It may clear the haze temporarily, but the insulating gas is already gone and the fog usually returns. A new sealed unit is the only permanent fix.
We measure within 24 hours of your call. Custom sealed units are usually installed within 7–10 days, and each window takes well under an hour on install day.
Absolutely. Many customers upgrade to Low-E, argon-filled units at replacement for better comfort and lower energy bills.
Yes — fogged patio and sliding door panels are replaced the same way, in the existing frame.

I can’t recommend All Glass Worx enough. The whole process was fast and painless from start to finish. I texted them pictures of my broken double-paned window, and they sent me an instant quote right away. They came out to measure, and the new window was installed just two days later. Professional, responsive, and quick, exactly what you want when you’ve got a broken window that needs fixing.Posted on Google![]()

Sam was kind, professional and his work was done well! It did not take him much time to replace an exterior piece of glass and his price was significantly better than the other two quotes I was given. I highly recommend him!Posted on Google![]()

Working with the team at All Glass Worx is a joy. Sam and Josh communicate well, keep their word on scheduling, are professional and courteous and most importantly they do amazing work. I broke a window while mowing the lawn and called for a quote to replace the double-pane glass. The guys showed up to take measurements after work and then came with the replacement glass a couple days after and performed the installation on the spot. The price I was quoted was more than reasonable for the excellent job performed. If you need to replace or repair your windows I highly recommend this group.Posted on Google![]()
